Alhambra

The Alhambra in Granada, Spain is a monument to Power, Faith & Love, a complex of buildings of exceptional beauty. It is a place which must be visited as one of Europe’s greatest landmarks, made all the more remarkable by a stylistic flavour which is perhaps unfamiliar to the northern European eye.  I have returned to the subject for peace and inspiration time and again to prepare a series of views of the place, some on a very large scale. Together these paintings form a comprehensive portrait of a remakable subject, and I long to return.   Read blog here.
